We are in search of a Senior Engineering Manager – Software to join our innovative teamas our new #bloqstar. In this role, you'll play a crucial role in leading multiple engineering squads, driving the architecture, delivery, and scaling of Bloq. it’s cloud and platform services as we grow usage 10× and beyond.

What will be your responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and inspire several
  - functional software squads, fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, and engineering excellence.
• Co-own product and technical roadmaps, working with Product and Design to prioritize initiatives that unlock scale, reliability, and customer value.
• Drive architectural evolution—from monoliths to
  - services,
  - driven and serverless patterns—balancing
  - term vision with iterative delivery.
• Establish
  - class delivery practices, including CI/CD,
  - based development, automated testing, and progressive rollout strategies.
• Stay
  - on when needed: participate in critical code and design reviews, debug production issues, and prototype new approaches.
• Measure and improve engineering KPIs (lead time,
  - failure rate, availability, latency), using data to guide continuous improvement.
• Partner across hardware, firmware, data, and customer teams to ensure our cloud platform seamlessly supports a rapidly growing fleet of Io
  T devices.

What are the requirements to join us in this position

• 10 + years of
  - engineering experience, with 4 + years leading multiple teams or an org of 20 + engineers.
• Proven record scaling a product or platform 10×—traffic, users, or devices—while maintaining high availability and performance.
• Deep knowledge of distributed-systems architecture, cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP), and modern backend stacks (Go, Node, Java, or similar).
• Hands-on expertise building CI/CD pipelines,
  - services, and observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, Open
  Telemetry).
• Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, and retain top engineering talent in
  - growth environments.
• Strong
  - management and communication skills, comfortable influencing at C-suite level and aligning engineering with business goals.
• Fluency in English, both verbal and written. [insert mandatory requirements]
• Experience with Io
  T platforms,
  - time event streaming, or edge/cloud data pipelines.
• Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design and
  - team operating models.
