Senior Engineering Manager / Engineering Director, Platform Connect at Cloudflare

Cloudflare is looking for a dynamic and strategic leader to establish and grow the Platform Connect team, part of the Enterprise Readiness pillar of the Platform team. The team will be based in Lisbon, Portugal or Bangalore, India and aims to accelerate the adoption of core platform features across product teams by proactively integrating them into

About the Role

Cloudflare’s Platform Connect team will work closely with Product Platform teams, which are responsible for building Cloudflare
- ' control plane platform features, including Organization Management, Account Management, Config Management, Identity Access Management (IAM), API, and SDK. The team’s mission is to accelerate feature adoption by enabling proactive integrations into designated products.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership & Management: Lead the recruitment and onboarding of the Platform Connect team; foster a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous learning; establish clear communication protocols and coordinate with teams across time zones (US/London) for alignment and knowledge transfer.
• Strategy & Execution: Establish and lead a dedicated team to perform proactive integrations of platform features (e. g. , Fine Grained Access Control (RBAC), Resource Tagging, Config Sharing) into designated products; partner with Platform and Product leadership to prioritize quarterly focus using a
  - driven approach; develop and share best practices, reusable code snippets, and documentation to facilitate future integrations.
• Collaboration & Communication: Act as primary interface between Platform Connect and core Platform teams in the US/London; provide feedback on ease of integration and identify feature gaps; work with key product teams to ensure successful integrations; collaborate with the Enterprise Readiness team on shared goals around feature adoption rates.
• Technical Enablement: Oversee the creation of training materials and workshops to enable product teams to
  - serve integrations; define the team’s role in providing Tier 2 support for integrated features, escalating to the core platform team when necessary.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience (e. g. , Senior Engineering Manager or Director) managing software development teams.
• Strong technical background in platform engineering, software development, or related field.
• Experience with technologies such as Terraform, RBAC, and related product domains.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working with distributed teams across time zones.
• Track record of driving technical initiatives and accelerating adoption of new technologies or features.
