Role: Senior Functional Data Architect

Location: Hybrid, Lisbon, Portugal

Required skills:

• Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (Masters preferred)
• 5+ years in data architecture, data modeling, or enterprise data management, ideally within complex multinational organizations.
• Proven experience with enterprise data modeling, data platform architecture, and governance frameworks.
• Hands-on expertise with MDM, data warehouses, and data lakehouse architectures (e. g. , Medallion architecture).
• Familiarity with data cataloging and metadata tools (Collibra, Alation, etc. ).
• Strong knowledge of BPMN 2. 0, SQL, and cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Understanding of data quality frameworks, privacy and compliance standards, and data lifecycle management.
• Excellent communication skills able to bridge technical and business discussions across global teams.
• Preferred Skills
• Experience in analytics and AI-driven data environments.
• Working knowledge of data risk management and access control models.
• Exposure to semantic data modeling, ontology management, or data marketplaces.
• Certification in data architecture or data governance (e. g. , DAMA, TOGAF, CDMP) is a plus.
