About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Java Backend Developer with strong expertise in core Java (Java 8 and above) and Spring Boot. The ideal candidate will be passionate about building scalable,
- performance backend systems and have solid experience in writing clean, testable code.

You will work on backend services that power
- critical applications, collaborating closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver robust and maintainable software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java (8 or higher) and Spring Boot.
• Collaborate with frontend, QA, and Dev
  Ops teams to ensure seamless delivery of software solutions.
• Write unit and integration tests to maintain high code quality.
• Optimize and scale backend systems for performance and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
• Stay up to date with advancements in the Java ecosystem and proactively suggest improvements.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional experience in Java backend development.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Java 8 or higher (Java 11/17 preferred).
• Proven expertise in Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and RESTful API design.
• Sound understanding of object‑oriented programming, concurrency, and data structures.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
• Familiarity with SQL/No
  SQL databases (e. g. , Postgre
  SQL, My
  SQL, Mongo
  DB).
• Experience with Maven or Gradle for build management.
• Proficiency in Git and understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and strong attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.

Nice to Have

• Exposure to Kotlin or willingness to learn.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum development environments.

• Must be based in Portugal and hold valid work authorization.
