Senior Java Developer/Lead Lisboa

• Consulting — with a focus on strategy, investment analysis, and digital process improvement;
• IT Team Augmentation — helping clients scale and strengthen their tech teams.

The project

We are seeking a Senior Java Developer/Lead to work on a project for a Service Company.

You will have the following responsibilities:

• Backend Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems using Java and Spring/Spring Boot;
• Architecture & Design: Contribute to application architecture, including microservices and hexagonal architectures;
• Database Management: Work with relational databases (Oracle, Postgre
  SQL, SQL) and ORM frameworks such as JPA and Hibernate;
• CI/CD Implementation: Support continuous integration and delivery pipelines to ensure smooth deployment processes;
• Team Leadership: Mentor and coach junior developers, assisting with onboarding and fostering professional growth within the team;
• Collaboration & Agile Delivery: Work in Agile/Scrum environments, collaborating closely with
  - functional teams to ensure timely,
  - quality delivery.

You need to have the following skills/experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field;
• 8+ years in Java backend development;
• Proven ability to coach and guide junior team members;
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.

Technical Expertise

• Strong knowledge of Java, Spring/Spring Boot;
• Proficiency in RDBMS (Oracle, Postgre
  SQL, SQL);
• Experience with JPA and Hibernate;
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines;
• Solid understanding of modern application architectures (Microservices, Hexagonal).

Nice to Have

• Experience with Jetpack Compose;
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies;

Location

Lisbon (Hybrid - 4 days per week in the Lisbon office during the first 3 to 6 months. After that, 3 days per week in the office and 2 days at home).
