We are seeking a

Senior Java Backend Developer

to join our agile Software Development Team in the

international sports betting and gambling sector

. You'll play a key role in building

scalable,
- critical applications

that serve global markets, using modern technologies and best practices.

What You will do:

• Design, develop, and maintain
  
  backend services and APIs
  
  using
  
  Java
  
  and related technologies
• Collaborate with the
  
  Product Owner
  
  to gather, refine, and validate requirements
• Implement
  
  efficient, testable, and maintainable code
  
  that solves business needs
• Produce
  
  flowcharts, layouts, and documentation
  
  to support development and knowledge sharing
• Work closely with QA to develop
  
  unit, component, and integration tests
• Deploy applications through
  
  CI/CD pipelines
  
  , ensuring smooth and reliable releases
• Participate in
  
  code reviews
  
  and share best practices with the team
• Stay current with
  
  industry trends and emerging backend technologies

What we're looking for:

• Proven experience with
  
  Java backend development
  
  in
  
  
  - critical systems
  
  (preferably in
  
  banking/finance
  
  )
• Strong understanding of the
  
  full software development lifecycle
  
  and
  
  Agile methodologies
• Hands-on experience with
  
  relational databases
  
  and backend data integration
• Solid knowledge of
  
  CI/CD pipelines
  
  and modern development workflows
• Strong
  - solving mindset, attention to detail, and ability to work in
  
  
  - functional teams
• Fluent in
  
  English
• Based in
  
  Portugal
  
  and available for
  
  
  - site/hybrid work in Lisbon or Coimbra
• No objections to working in the
  
  sports betting and gambling industry
