Senior Java Engineer Lisboa

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services and APIs using Java and related technologies
• Collaborate with the Product Owner to gather and refine requirements
• Design and implement
  - structured, testable, and efficient code to solve business needs
• Create flowcharts, layouts, and documentation to support the development process
• Develop unit, component, and integrated tests in collaboration with the QA team
• Deploy applications in a Continuous Integration (CI) platform
• Test and document implemented solutions to ensure high quality and maintainability
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in backend development

Qualifications

• Proven experience with
  - critical Java applications, particularly in banking and finance sectors
• In-depth understanding of the software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies
• Proficiency in relational databases, including indexes, optimization, and ACID properties
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka, including offsets, brokers, partitions, and consumer groups
• Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as Grafana, ELK stack, and Datadog
• Experience with cloud platforms, containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and Dev
  Ops practices
• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture and asynchronous communication
• Up-to-date with Kubernetes, Prometheus, AWS, No
  SQL databases, and messaging systems
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly
• Leadership and mentorship abilities
• Strong
  - solving skills, attention to detail, and a continuous learning mindset
• Experience with

• Experience with Messaging Systems, Kafka (a plus)
• Experience with Microservices
