Senior Java Engineer

Location: Lisbon, Portugal

Languages: English (B2-C1) - french is a plus

Work Model: 4 days in the office

Recruitment Process:

• Initial Interview (~40 minutes)
• Two
  - depth interview sessions (~3 hours each)

Eligibility: Currently living in Portugal and be legally authorized to work there

We are looking for a Senior Software Developer with deep expertise in Java and Spring for a client in the financial services industry . You will join an Agile Scrum team focused on building robust, scalable backend solutions deployed on AWS, collaborating closely with data engineers and business stakeholders.

Your Profile:

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Senior experience with Java 21, Spring Boot, Spring Boot Data, Hibernate, and JDBC
• Strong knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle or Aurora Postgre
  SQL
• Proven experience deploying and managing applications in AWS (ECS, Lambda, Step
  Function, RDS, S3, SQS, SNS, Cloud
  Watch)
• Proficient in Python for automation and backend scripting
• Experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, and secure coding practices
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git
  Hub or Git
  Lab
• Experience collaborating with data engineers is a plus
• Knowledge of AI tools, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines are valued assets
• Agile mindset, strong
  - solving skills, and excellent communication
• Fluent in English (French is a plus)

Technical Environment:

• Languages & Frameworks: Java, JPA/Hibernate, Spring, SQL, Angular (or other
  - end frameworks as a plus)
• Relational databases
• Tools: Git, Jira, Confluence, Bamboo, Maven, JUnit
• Processes & Methodologies: CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes
• Knowledge of BPM notation

What You Will Be Doing

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Java and Spring Boot
• Integrate and optimize database solutions with Oracle or Aurora Postgre
  SQL
• Build and deploy applications on AWS and manage infrastructure with Terraform
• Develop Python scripts for automation and data processing tasks
• Collaborate closely with data engineers to ensure smooth data integration
• Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, and mentoring junior developers
• Continuously suggest improvements to system performance and scalability
