We are hiring a Jira Software Engineer to manage the Atlassian stack at Canonical, including administration, configuration, automation, and integration responsibilities. We prioritize high engineering quality, rigorous documentation, and effective stakeholder management. Our goal is to enable Canonical teams to leverage Atlassian Jira effectively, work on challenging tasks, and make
- driven decisions.

The role is within the Commercial Systems team that integrates business systems used at Canonical to ensure reliable data flows and automate business processes. Our systems include Saa
S solutions like Jira, Salesforce, Net
Suite, Greenhouse, GSuite, among others. We utilize Python and Go, along with
- source tools such as Airbyte and Temporal, to enhance
- driven
- making and operational efficiency.

Location: This role can be performed from anywhere within EMEA time zones.

The role entails

1. Managing the entire Atlassian Cloud ecosystem at Canonical
2. Designing, documenting, and implementing processes and automation in Jira
3. Designing, documenting, and implementing integrations between Jira and data warehouses
4. Creating analytical dashboards for stakeholder
   - making
5. Developing scalable learning resources
6. Collaborating with engineering, operations, and support teams globally
7. Owning critical escalations and resolving them promptly

What we are looking for in you

1. Exceptional academic record from high school through university
2. Experience with Atlassian Jira as an administrator
3. Understanding of Jira usage patterns across departments
4. Proficiency as a software developer in Python
5. Professional proficiency in written and spoken English
6. Strong interpersonal skills, curiosity, adaptability, and accountability
7. Ability to work remotely with diverse teams and stakeholders
8. Willingness to travel internationally twice a year for up to two weeks
