We are delighted to be hiring a Senior Machine Learning Scientist for the AI Agent product at Zendesk. You will own a designated product area and revolutionize how our customers experience our products. This is an exciting opportunity to bridge the gap between

- world impact. You’ll have the freedom to shape the product roadmap, discover innovative ML applications, and collaborate with a talented
- functional team.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and test novel AI solutions for real business problems
- Own
-
- end research projects—from understanding business requirements to design, implementation, experimentation, and reporting - Discuss ideas within the research team and provide peer review for colleagues’ work
- Stay
-
- date with NLP and ML literature and introduce new concepts as potential solutions to business problems - Work closely with AI engineers to implement designs into production systems
- Use appropriate tools and technologies for rapid implementation and quick hypothesis testing, keeping production considerations in mind
- Collaborate with Product Managers and other
- technical stakeholders to discover the product roadmap
Who You Are
- Degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields
- Proven record of ML or NLP research, ideally in industry
- Experience building deep learning architectures, with a focus on NLP
- Ability to translate research ideas into

- concept models - Practical approach to researching ML solutions for business problems
- Significant experience with LLMs and Prompt Engineering
- Bonus if you have experience with AI Agent Context Management
- Experience with conversational AI and voice technologies, including

- speech (TTS) and
-
- speech (STS) - Positive, proactive team player who is passionate about their craft, participates in product discussions, and supports the team
- Excellent communication skills and fluency in English
Measuring Success
- Alignment of your work with the product roadmap and strategic goals
- Effectiveness in collaborating with product managers, engineers, designers, and other stakeholders
- Discovery and ideation—ability to identify new opportunities, prioritize, and champion ideas
The Interview Process
- Initial Call with Talent Team — 15 minutes
- Interview with a member of the Hiring Team — 45 minutes
- Take-home technical/research challenge
- Technical interview with two Zendesk scientists to discuss your technical experience — 60 minutes
- Final interview with CTO/Engineering Manager/Director (2 of the following): CTO, Engineering Manager, or Director — 45 minutes

- level hybrid experience with a mix of onsite and remote work; you may be required to attend our local office part of the week. The specific
- office schedule will be determined by the hiring manager.
