What you will do
As a Senior Manager Security Monitoring Services you will lead Amgen’s Security Monitoring Services program with a focus on SIEM engineering and Operational Technology (OT) security. The position is responsible for shaping and enhancing Amgen’s capabilities in security log management, analytics, AI-driven security practices, and OT threat protection. The role requires close collaboration with
- functional teams, including Incident Response, Threat Intelligence, and Attack Surface Reduction, to proactively strengthen Amgen’s detection and response ecosystem.
The ideal candidate is an experienced cybersecurity leader with deep expertise in monitoring technologies and the ability to influence outcomes through strategic partnerships and effective leadership.

- Lead and develop Amgen’s SIEM engineering and OT Security services.
- Drive strategies for security log management, analytics, and operational technology defense.
- Foster innovation by incorporating AI for Security and developing Security for AI use cases.
- Develop and maintain a
- performance team through coaching, technical training, and mentorship. - Ensure strong adherence to documentation standards, including SOPs, guides, and knowledge base articles.
- Partner with Security Metrics & Analytics to produce actionable insights for senior leadership.
- Collaborate closely with 24x7 Global Security Operations, Cyber Threat Intelligence, Incident Response, and Attack Surface Reduction teams.
- Continuously optimize costs and drive operational efficiencies.

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of managerial experience directly managing people or leading teams, programs, or resource allocation. This may run concurrently with the required technical experience.
- Demonstrated leadership in building and managing cybersecurity monitoring or operations teams.
- Strategic thinking and ability to influence
- level stakeholders. - Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles including Defense in Depth and Zero Trust.
- Experience developing and managing
- wide SIEM and OT security initiatives. - Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
- Strong expertise in SIEM platforms, OT threat detection, and AI-driven security capabilities.
- Proficiency in cybersecurity controls across identity, network, endpoint, cloud, and application domains.
- Familiarity with security for hybrid environments (on-prem, Saa
S, Cloud, Containers). - Deep understanding of security frameworks and standards:
- Incident Response: SANS, NIST
- Controls & Policies: CIS, HIPAA, NIST CSF
Professional Certifications:
- CISSP
- CISM
- GMON
- GSOM
- Other relevant industry certifications (e. g. GIAC)
Soft Skills:
- High initiative and
