The role of Senior Manager for Marketing Analytics at Canonical

We're looking for a Marketing Analytics Senior Manager to join our team and execute our growth hacking strategy. Our team focuses on technology adoption patterns, respecting visitors' data, and using open source in marketing.

The Canonical marketing team drives commercial outcomes across its product portfolio and expands the market through digital campaigns, lifecycle management, events, partnerships, and community development. This role reports to the VP of Marketing.
Location: Our company largely works from home; this role can be based in the EMEA time zones.
What your day will look like
- Lead the growth engineering team, including data analysts, performance marketers, lifecycle marketers, and marketing automation specialists, to achieve the best commercial results through data and technology.
- Design, implement, and operate Canonical's marketing technology stack, comprising various applications from commercial solutions (Marketo, Google Analytics, Leandata) to open source tools (Superset, Kubeflow, Word
Press). - Own reporting and analytics across the customer lifecycle, including ABM, Multi-Touch Attribution, funnel performance, acquisition costs, and customer retention.
- Develop and monitor OKRs and conversion rates across marketing and revenue funnels.
- Optimize lead scoring, flow, and cadences to increase conversion rates.
- Enhance web analytics and SEO practices for high organic user and customer acquisition.
- Drive Return On Ad Spend optimization through attribution, targeting, and channel exploration.
- Ensure marketing data quality through governance policies and practices.
- Promote experimentation culture with processes, tools, and expertise.
- Collaborate across teams to build data solutions for Go To Market challenges.
- Support marketing team excellence via training, tools, and documentation.
What we are looking for in you
- Degree in data science, statistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, or a compelling alternative with an outstanding academic record.
- Strong analytical skills with a history of managing projects that drive commercial success.
- Knowledge of advanced marketing analytics, coding (Python, JS), and databases (SQL).
- Proven leadership of analytical and creative professionals.
- Experience with implementing and managing a
- edge martech stack, preferably open source. - Experience fostering a culture of experimentation.
- Expertise in web analytics and SEO for Saa
S products. - Ability to collaborate with senior stakeholders to translate strategic questions into impactful analytics projects.
- Willingness to travel 2-4 times per year for internal events.
Additional Skills of Interest
- Experience with ML-generated predictive models for lead generation or retention.
