The role

We seek an experienced Microsoft SQL & Windows Infrastructure Engineer to design, optimize, and maintain our Microsoft SQL infrastructure. Your expertise in virtualization and Windows OS management will support various infrastructure services, projects, and improvements, including automation and technical documentation.

How you'll make an impact

• MS SQL Server Infrastructure: Own the architecture, deployment, and maintenance of SQL Server infrastructure, ensuring performance, security, and scalability.
• Windows Server Administration: Manage Windows Servers, Fileserver, and Active Directory within a VMware virtualized environment, maintaining stability and security.
• Support & Guidance: Provide expertise on SQL Server, Windows Server, and virtualization technologies for IT and business projects.
• Incident Management: Diagnose and resolve incidents related to SQL Server, Windows Server, and virtualization platforms, minimizing downtime.
• Automation & Infrastructure as Code: Develop Power
  Shell scripts and workflows for automation, provisioning, and lifecycle management.
• Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Maintain technical documentation and share knowledge across teams.

What’s important to us

• Deep knowledge of SQL Server, SQL Cluster Services, and Windows Server, including backup and security best practices.
• Hands-on virtualization experience with VMware v
  Sphere/ESXi.
• Proficiency in debugging, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring tools.
• Strong scripting skills (Power
  Shell, T-SQL).
• Proactive, analytical
  - solving mindset.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with clear documentation.
• Ability to learn emerging technologies and adapt.
• Independence, initiative, and innovative thinking.
• Good command of English; German is a plus.
