Senior Product Manager User & Controls Lisboa

We’re hiring a Senior Product Manager to lead the User Enablement and Growth domain, ensuring employees have the right access and context to spend, maximising access to all that Pleo has to offer. This role defines and executes the product vision and strategy to transform spend controls into an effortless and empowered experience.

Your empathy for Finance and HR professionals is crucial, as this team operates at the interface of company structure and financial access, balanced with commercial acumen to influence growth strategies. You should be exceptional at getting to the root cause of problems and understanding the motivations of finance professionals to challenge the status quo with clarity and humility.

Responsibilities

• Lead the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the User Management and Spend Controls space, sustaining a
  - leading experience.
• Bring domain expertise in user permissions, access controls, spend policies, budget enforcement, and approval workflows to influence the product roadmap.
• Contribute to increasing ARPA by enabling
  - market finance admins to empower employees to spend through Pleo.
• Engage stakeholders from Product Marketing & GTM to drive adoption and growth campaigns and ensure employees understand Pleo’s spend products.
• Collaborate with engineering, design, and data teams to align on strategies and execute product initiatives smoothly.
• Use data and qualitative user research to understand needs and pain points related to managing users and controlling spend, translating insights into product solutions.
• Identify market trends, competitive landscapes, and partnerships to inform
  - term product strategy.

Qualifications

• Experience with HRIS and user management, building solutions or working with HR and ideally Finance teams.
• Visionary and innovative with a track record of solving problems to keep the product category defined.
• Results-oriented growth mindset, comfortable with ambiguity and collaboration across the organization for measurable outcomes.
• Strong track record of leading
  - performing
  - functional product teams (>10 engineers) through product management craft and leadership.
• Ability to break down complex concepts, prioritize work, and convey a clear narrative to teams and stakeholders.
• Deep customer empathy with experience conducting user research to translate insights into product improvements.
• Experience in working with AI and automation to improve workflows is beneficial.

Team, reporting & development

You’ll report to our Senior Product Director and work closely with Engineering Managers, designers, and tech leads. You’ll set strategy and priorities for two engineering squads, and partner with Data, Product Research, GTM and Partnerships to drive success.

In your first 3 months, you’ll: rethink onboarding for spend policies and controls; set a vision and
- term roadmap for user management, permissions, and control capabilities; learn how to build a leading B2B product experience.
