My client, a rapidly expanding global fintech platform, is strengthening its Engineering function and is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Analyst to support the quality and stability of their core backend services.

This position sits within the team responsible for
- level APIs that enable payment, trading, and
- transfer flows across the organisation. It is a highly impactful opportunity for someone who enjoys technically challenging work, complex distributed systems, and close collaboration with backend engineers.

What you will be doing

You will take ownership of testing and validating
- critical API functionality within a distributed financial platform, including:

• Testing REST APIs that underpin financial, payment, and investment processes
• Verifying business logic, error handling, authentication and authorization (OAuth2 and JWT), idempotency, and
  - case behaviour
• Designing and executing test scenarios, including asynchronous flows such as callbacks,
  - driven processes, and webhooks
• Working closely with engineers from requirements through to production readiness
• Reviewing API specifications and technical designs to identify risks early
• Performing exploratory testing and ensuring defects are clearly described and reproducible
• Creating and maintaining
  - quality test documentation and reports

Automation and Quality Improvement

You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of automated testing practices:

• Working with and reviewing existing automated API test suites
• Helping expand automation coverage for backend and
  -
  - end financial flows
• Identifying gaps and collaborating with engineers to improve reliability and confidence in releases
• Supporting the evolution of QA processes, tooling, and standards

What we are looking for

• 8+ years of experience in QA or software testing
• Strong expertise in backend or API testing
• Hands-on experience testing REST APIs with tools such as Postman, Bruno, or similar
• Ability to validate API contracts, business rules, authentication flows, and error scenarios
• Experience with asynchronous processes, including webhooks
• Exposure to API automation (Postman collections, Newman, Cypress, or similar)
• Strong exploratory testing skills and a
  - based mindset
• Experience working in agile environments
• Fluent English and strong communication skills
• High attention to detail, analytical thinking, and proactive problem solving

Preferred but not essential: scripting or programming experience, fintech or payments industry experience, and familiarity with automated test frameworks.
