We are seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Automation Engineer to join one of our challenging international projects within the insurance sector, in a hybrid work model in Lisbon/Porto.

Are you the one?

You will be part of a Test Centre of Excellence, working in a mature environment strongly focused on test strategy, automation, and continuous improvement, where your mission will be to support the development, maintenance, and execution of automated tests for critical systems in the areas of Savings and Protection.

What you’ll be doing:

Automation Strategy & Test Management

• Develop the automation test strategy and ensure proper test management within the project.
• Plan the rollout of automated test scripts.
• Estimate budget, timelines, and return on investment for the automation efforts.
• Conduct Proofs of Concept to validate technical feasibility for automation in different applications.

Test Automation Development

• Collaborate with business and technical teams to translate scenarios into Gherkin, ensuring alignment with business requirements.
• Participate in 3 Amigos sessions.
• Design, develop, maintain, and execute automated API tests using KARATE.
• Integrate automated tests into existing CI/CD pipelines or create new ones using Jenkins / Git
  Lab CI.
• Set up and maintain automated test infrastructures using Docker and Kubernetes to ensure portability and reproducibility of environments.
• Debug issues, analyse results, document findings, and provide Go/No-Go input.
• Continuously enhance automation frameworks to maximize ROI, quality, and efficiency.
• Report risks, progress, and any impacts on quality or delivery timelines.

Knowledge Sharing & Continuous Improvement

• Train developers and junior automation testers on test script development and CI/CD execution.
• Provide training on Gherkin for team members.
• Keep up to date with industry best practices and emerging tools.
• Follow internal testing standards, ETO Service Culture values, and BNP Paribas Cardif France 4S principles.
• Participate in workshops on quality, methodologies, and standards.

What we are looking for:

Technical Skills

• Degree in Informatics or related fields.
• Solid understanding of project methodologies and ISTQB principles.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Test Automation.
• Strong expertise in:
• Karate framework, Gherkin, Cucumber (2+ years)
• Java, Maven, Jenkins, Intelli
  J (2+ years)
• Postman, JSON
• Experience creating Docker images, managing test environments, and building CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with ALM Octane.
• Ability to identify risks and follow up on mitigation actions.
• Nice to have: SQL, UFT, Selenium.

Language Skills

• French is required.
• English
