Title - Senior QA Engineer

Location - Portugal (remote)

We’re engaged with an exciting Series A insuretech who are looking for a Senior QA Engineer to help maintain and elevate the quality of a modern,
- native software platform. This is a
- on role with a balanced mix of automation and manual testing, working closely with Product and Engineering teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.

You won’t have line management responsibility, but you’ll play a key role in mentoring and supporting another QA Engineer, sharing best practices and helping shape how quality is embedded across teams. The role can grow into more leadership as everything scales.

What you’ll be doing

• Delivering a balanced QA approach across manual, exploratory, and automated testing
• Designing, building, and maintaining automated test suites alongside
  - on manual testing
• Working with Product Managers and Engineers to define acceptance criteria and test scenarios
• Executing and improving regression, integration, system, and UAT testing
• Integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support fast, reliable releases
• Carrying out API, performance, and basic security testing where appropriate
• Identifying quality risks early and working collaboratively to resolve them
• Supporting and mentoring other QA Engineers through pairing, reviews, and knowledge sharing
• Contributing to quality metrics such as defect trends, test coverage, and automation effectiveness
• Championing a pragmatic,
  - first mindset across delivery teams

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years’ experience in Quality Assurance within modern software teams
• Proven experience working across both manual and automated testing
• Hands-on knowledge of automation frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or Appium
• Strong exploratory testing skills and a
  - focused testing mindset
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git
  Hub Actions, Git
  Lab CI, Azure Dev
  Ops, etc. )
• Solid experience with API testing (Postman, Rest
  Assured) and performance testing tools (JMeter, Locust)
• Experience in Agile / Scrum environments
• Background testing
  - native, Saa
  S applications
• Awareness of security testing principles and compliance considerations (ISO, SOC2, GDPR)
• Strong communication skills and confidence collaborating across Product and Engineering
• A practical,
  - oriented approach with a strong sense of ownership
