Overview
As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and executing test strategies across manual and automated environments. You will work closely with developers, Dev
Ops, and product teams to ensure
- quality releases for our product Percona Monitoring and Management through robust testing frameworks and automation.
Responsibilities
- Test Strategy & Execution: Design, implement, and execute test cases for web applications, APIs, and backend systems in an Agile environment.
- Database Testing: Write and execute database queries to validate data integrity and

SQL, Postgre
SQL, and Mongo
DB would be very helpful. - Automation Development: Develop and maintain test automation using Playwright (preferably in Java
Script) to ensure fast and reliable test coverage. - Scripting & Infrastructure: Utilize Python and Bash scripting for test automation, reporting, and CI/CD integrations.
- CI/CD & Dev
Ops: Work with Git
Hub Actions, Jenkins, and other CI/CD tools to automate test execution and reporting. - Containerization & Cloud: Work with Docker, Kubernetes (K8s), and related technologies to test and validate
- native applications. - Configuration Management & Deployment: Leverage Ansible for provisioning and configuration management in test environments.
- Observability & Monitoring: Utilize Prometheus, Grafana, or similar monitoring tools to ensure system health and performance validation.
- Manual & Exploratory Testing: To identify defects early in the development cycle, perform
- on functional, regression, and exploratory testing. - Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with development, Dev
Ops, and product teams to enhance test coverage and improve quality assurance processes.
Qualifications
- Strong database knowledge (relational and
- relational) and ability to query/test data. - Hands-on experience in Playwright automation framework, preferably in Java
Script. - Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting for automation and debugging.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Git
Hub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools. - Command-line proficiency: Navigating Linux via the terminal, managing files, using package managers like apt, yum, or dnf
- Good understanding of Docker and Kubernetes, with exposure to
- based testing. - Familiarity with Ansible for infrastructure automation and configuration.
- Experience with Observability & Monitoring tools such as Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Good understanding of Agile methodologies, SDLC, and QA processes.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
Nice to have
- Exposure to API testing tools like Postman, REST-assured, or similar.
- Familiarity with performance testing tools like k6.
- Experience with test management tools like Test
Rail, Zephyr, or similar. - Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a plus.
