Senior Risk Associate
Greenvolt is seeking a Senior Risk Associate (Enterprise Risk) to join the Risk Management team in Lisbon, Portugal. The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing the organisation's risk management framework, with responsibility for implementing and continuously monitoring the enterprise risk management strategy.
The Risk Management team is a strategic partner in driving organisational resilience and sustainable growth. It not only identifies and assesses risks across several domains but also collaborates with all business units and governance bodies to design and implement mitigation strategies that safeguard critical objectives. By integrating risk intelligence into
- making, supporting business continuity planning, and ensuring compliance with risk management standards, such as ISO 31000 and COSO ERM, the team enables informed choices that safeguard value creation and strengthen the Group's ability to navigate uncertainty.
Reporting directly to the Head of Risk Management, this role will engage with key
- makers to integrate risk awareness into the organisation's culture, ensuring that risks linked to critical activities throughout the Group are proactively and efficiently managed.
Main Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation and monitoring of enterprise risk management policies and procedures aligned with strategic objectives.
- Partner with
- line teams to identify and assess risks, including emerging risks, and develop effective response strategies across several risk domains. - Support the risk identification and assessment processes and prepare
- support materials for senior leadership. - Manage and optimise the risk management system, ensuring accurate data capture, reporting, and integration with corporate platforms.
- Prepare and present periodic risk reports to senior management and governance bodies.
- Maintain and update risk registers with accurate classification and timely revisions.
- Support the Business Continuity Management activities by coordinating recovery strategies, crisis response, and emergency plans, including development and testing of Business Continuity Plans.
- Conduct credit and financial risk analysis for counterparties (e. G. , customers, suppliers, and business partners), evaluating financial health and recommending mitigation strategies.
- Develop
- testing and scenario analysis models to strengthen financial and operational resilience. - Ensure alignment between risk management and ESG objectives, including
- related risk assessments. - Drive continuous improvement initiatives in risk processes, systems, and governance.
- Support strategic projects and
- functional activities across multiple geographies. - Enhance risk reporting through automation, data visualisation, and advanced analytics for actionable insights.
- Promote a strong risk culture through training and
- functional collaboration.
Requirements
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent by experience, in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Business or other relevant fields of expertise, a master's degree is a plus.
- 5-8 years of experience in risk management, consulting or audit. Experience within the renewable energy sector will be valued.
- Solid knowledge of Risk Management Standards, Risk Appetite, Risk Tolerance, Key Risk Indicators and governance processes.
- Knowledge of construction, property, financial, operational, compliance, cyber and ESG/sustainability risk wills be valued.
- Good communication skills and willingness to work in an international environment, occasional travel may be required.
- Excellent writing and presentation skills, with the ability to develop complex analyses on clear internal materials.
- Proficient in Portuguese and English is required.
- Highly organized,
- oriented, and able to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously. - Flexibility, resilience and good adaptability are also needed.
