Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer - Fully Remote
Join our team as a Senior Full Stack Engineer, where you'll play a key role in developing, maintaining, and optimizing applications. Collaborate with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to enhance features, create new ones, and ensure a scalable and secure architecture.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Development: Build scalable,
- quality web applications using Ruby on Rails. - Collaborate: Work with
- functional teams to design and develop new features for web and mobile platforms. - Frontend Optimization: Maintain and optimize the frontend with Java
Script frameworks like Turbo and/or Stimulus. - Integration Management: Oversee integration of
- party services such as Twilio, Send
Grid, and Stripe. - Infrastructure Stability: Ensure the application’s infrastructure on Heroku and AWS is stable, secure, and scalable to meet growing demand.
- Database Management: Contribute to managing AWS Aurora for My
SQL databases, ensuring efficient, reliable access to data. - Code Quality: Develop, maintain, and enforce code quality and security standards, using tools like Brakeman and Dependabot.
- Deployment Process: Drive deployment with robust CI/CD practices, including automated testing and pull request reviews.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance to junior engineers and participate in code reviews.
- Leverage modern development tools and AI-assisted coding practices to accelerate feature delivery while maintaining code quality standards.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years as a Full Stack Engineer with strong Ruby on Rails expertise.
- Proficiency in Java
Script (j
Query, Stimulus). - Experience in database management, particularly My
SQL or AWS. - Hands-on experience with Heroku, AWS services, and infrastructure as code (Terraform).
- Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing suites, and Git
Hub workflows. - Excellent
- solving skills and ability to work independently or as a team. - Strong attention to detail in maintaining code quality and security standards.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with
- party integrations like Twilio, Send
Grid, Stripe, Chrome
Data, and Car
Fax. - Familiarity with Airbrake, New
Relic, Elastic
Search, and caching mechanisms (Redis, Memcached). - Understanding of mobile web app development and responsive design principles.
- Knowledge of Dealer Management Systems (DMS) integrations and vehicle data processing.
- Experience with AI-powered development tools (Git
Hub Copilot, Claude, Cursor) and modern development acceleration techniques.
