Offer Description
Colab Net4CO2 is a Collaborative Laboratory focused on Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage strategies. Currently, Colab Net4CO2 is hiring one Senior Researcher to carry out research activities in Chemical Engineering field related to CO2 utilization, more specifically working on production of synthetic fuels and other related CO2 applications.
Summary description of the function:
- Support the synthetic fuels research line in the scope of CO2 utilization, involving, but not limited to the development of new technologies and process optimisation;
- Engage in research activities related to carbon dioxide utilization, mainly concerning the proof of concept of prototypes for different fuels;
- Engage in the commercial plan and way forward steps;
- Promote cooperation with external R&D and industrial stakeholders and identify possible synergies;
- Prepare applications for competitive funding;
- Support and guidance to Ph
D and master students; - Prepare
- scientific reports; - Promote scientific dissemination;
- Engage in research activities related to carbon capture and utilization;
- Support the design and optimization of chemical processes for the production of sustainable fuels and other CO2-based products;

Requirements
Research Field Engineering » Chemical engineering Education Level Ph
D or equivalent
- Ph. D. in Chemical Engineering or a related field;
- A minimum of five years of relevant experience, supported by a strong record of scientific publications;
- Experience working in hybrid environments involving both industrial and academic stakeholders;
- Proven track record with multiple reactor technologies and prototypes across different scales, including process optimization;
- Knowledge of carbon dioxide utilisation routes for the production of synthetic fuels (gaseous and liquid);
- Experience in materials screening and characterization techniques, including gas chromatography;
- Demonstrated capability in defining work plans and work packages for R&D projects (laboratory and pilot scale);
- Knowledge of process simulation and optimization using ASPEN Plus (valued);
- Strong analytical skills and ability to solve complex, multidisciplinary problems;
- Excellent communication skills, strong team spirit, and openness to collaboration with internal and external partners;
- Proficiency in foreign languages, with a very strong command of English;
- Valid work visa permitting employment in Portugal.

- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills;
- Proactive mindset with the ability to identify new opportunities and engage with potential stakeholders;
- Strong sense of teamwork and collaboration;
- Open-minded and adaptable to new ideas and approaches;
- Availability and willingness to travel;
- Very good or advanced level of English.
- Background with process design will be considered an asset.

Additional Information
The Gross Monthly remuneration for the knowledge transfer manager will range from level to 38 of the Single Remuneration Table (TRU), €1964, 94 to €2491, 27, depending on experience demonstrated. Meal allowance and health insurance.
