Senior ServiceNow Platform Engineer
(You must be living in Portugal at the moment)Key Responsibilities:Lead the development and maintenance of custom applications on the Service
Now platform, including the intake process, requirements gathering, stakeholder management, design, development, testing, and release. You will stay up to date with the latest platform developments and ensure best practices are applied to all new applications. Own the platform’s architecture, data segregation, and security, setting and aligning standards across your team, the guild, and clients. This includes knowledge of various integration patterns and possibilities within Service
Now, architectural
- making, and compliance with best practices. Design and implement workflows, notifications, and automations to increase efficiency by automating repetitive tasks. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide technical insights, and ensure the applications meet business needs. Support deployment through version control (Source Control), update sets, and CI/CD pipelines. Assist in platform lifecycle management, including upgrades and maintenance. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring high availability and performance of the platform. Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Now expert with over 5 years of experience in development and platform management. At least 3 to 4 years of experience in complementary modules such as ITSM, HR, Sec
Ops, and CSM to strengthen your platform knowledge. Proven experience with integrations, Integration Hub, Creator Workflow, and Scoped App development for at least 2 years. Strong communicator, capable of translating technical concepts into business value. Experience with core Service
Now components such as global scope, platform lifecycle management, upgrade processes, and security best practices. Proficient in developing scoped applications, integrating new functionalities, and managing complex projects. Knowledge of web technologies such as Java
Script, HTML, and CSS. Skilled in scripting languages such as Java
Script, Python, and Unix Shell. Experience with relational databases (e. g. , My
SQL, Oracle) and web application stacks. Proactive leadership skills, with a collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for mentoring junior engineers. Committed to quality, customer service, and continuous improvement.
