Senior Software Engineer - AI First Team

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain robust backend systems with a focus on AI and agent/chatbot technologies.
• Collaborate with
  - functional teams to deliver new features and drive innovation in digital operations.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from design and architecture to deployment and support.
• Take part in
  - call rotations to ensure high availability and reliability of our services.
• Contribute to technical discussions, code reviews, and mentor other engineers.
• Work with
  - edge technologies in a
  - paced, collaborative environment.

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong focus on backend development.
• Recent (last 6-12 months)
  - on experience in AI or chatbot development.
• Experience shipping code as part of a team in a production environment.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and scalable backend architectures.
• Willingness to participate in
  - call rotations.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Based in Lisbon, with the ability to work remotely in Portugal after 20 days.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Lang
  Graph (strong plus, foundational to our AI/agent work).
• Experience with Elixir for backend development.
• Background as a Backend Engineer with AI experience, or as a Machine Learning Engineer with product development experience.
• Experience working in Saa
  S or
  - based environments.
• Familiarity with modern Dev
  Ops practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience mentoring or leading other engineers.

Location and Work Model

This role is based in Lisbon and is expected to come into our Lisbon office 2 days per week. We support hybrid and flexible work arrangements; you can thrive in a collaborative,
