JOB DESCRIPTION

With a keen interest in the development field, your main objective will be to develop software in accordance with the strategy of Kuehne + Nagel.

Your Role

This software development role will incorporate the initial design, development & writing of code alongside suitable & appropriate testing and effective implementation. If you have extensive experience in this field and you are looking for a development opportunity in a global organisation, we would be interested in hearing from you.

Your Responsibilities

• Take technical responsibility for application development with a focus on Java.
• Play a major role in shaping our services and building up a modern architecture for the Job listings logistics industry.
• Shape our services throughout their lifecycle - from ideation and specification, architecture design, prototyping, and integration into production systems.
• Work closely with product owners and business experts across multiple business units.
• Continuously improve our solutions by evaluating new tools and frameworks.

Your Skills and Experiences

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent. Several years of professional experience as a software engineer or equivalent role.
• Proven software architecture and development skills. Advanced
  - on experience with Java application development and related technologies such as Spring Boot, JPA (Hibernate), JUnit, and Mockito.
• Experience with Kafka, Elastic Search/Opensearch, Kibana, and Camunda are a plus.
• Front-end development using one or more modern web JS frameworks (Angular> v14 preferred) is an asset. Comfort with tools such as Maven, Jenkins, Git, and ideally Intelli
  J IDEA, Docker, Open
  Shift, or AWS.
• Interest in working with agile methodologies and evolving strategies.
• Ability to quickly grasp complex relationships, as well as analytical and conceptual skills.
• Openness to sharing knowledge with colleagues and learning from others.
• Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English.
