We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with a background in Dev
Ops practices to join our growing technology team. This is an exciting opportunity to become a member of the 8x8 engineering team that is involved in the entire life cycle of development.

Responsibilities

1. Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle
2. Write well designed, testable, efficient code
3. Design, develop and deploy infrastructure automation solutions for 8x8 environments
4. Automate and optimize cloud infrastructure
5. Stay current with the latest trends and best practices in public cloud
6. Provide best practices, recommendations, and guidance for Public Cloud usage (e. G. AWS)
7. Operational point of contact for development, operations and Quality Engineering
8. Work on automation and implement continuous integration processes with Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins and Git
9. Evaluate current development procedures, recommend and implement tools and practices to increase efficiency and repeatability
10. Operational review of existing architecture with the goal of automating and improving the existing and future environments
11. Work closely with other teams and understand the functionality of applications and assist with various automation and configuration tasks
12. Contribute and maintain documentation ensuring knowledge is shared within the team

Qualifications

1. B. S. degree in Computer Science or relevant field experience
2. 5+ years of experience Software Engineering
3. Good understanding of
   - oriented programming principles
4. Strong design and architectural skills
5. Passionate about delivering
   - quality software
6. Proven skills and Hands-on programming experience in Java, preferably leveraging Spring Framework is a plus
7. Proven skills and Hands-on programming experience in PHP is an advantage
8. Excellent development experience with Java REST web services is an advantage
9. Scripting skills including bash, python, Go, ruby, etc.
10. Experience implementing CI/CD strategies
11. Container deployments
12. Experience using tools like Jenkins, Git
    Hub Actions, Argo CD
13. Experience with system management automation tools like Chef, Ansible, Terraform
14. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a geographically dispersed team
