The European Technology Centre in Portugal has a mission to be part of the global team that actively develops and evolve our core technology platforms.
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled and experienced Software Engineer to join our Technology Center in Portugal. You will join a local team that is part of a wider international development team spanning the US, Portugal, and India. On this role you’ll be contributing to evolving the next generation of our core technology platforms. You’d be implementing new features over core market research applications, incorporating strategic market research and AI capabilities into our platforms and client offering, and you’ll also have a great opportunity to help us thrive as part of our global engineering practice.

Responsibilities
- Develop new
- page web applications and develop key system features. - Explore and evaluate new technologies to advance our Saa
S platform and grow our business - Serve as a developer on teams that will execute projects from beginning to end, including working with product management, gathering requirements, brainstorming solutions, building final applications and testing.
- Work closely with architects, and other teams to design and implementation cross functional requirements
- Participate in design and code reviews
- Follow community best practices and team SDLC guidelines
- Develop for scale and robustness leveraging the cloud and microservice
- Analyze existing services and modules for potential risks and mitigations
- Participate in Agile grooming and propose designs that solve business problems
- Support business operations by helping resolve production issues as required
- Mentor more junior engineers

Education and experience
- 5 to 8 years of software development / engineering experience
- MS/BS in Software Engineering or related discipline
Technical skills
- Experience programming in Java
- Experience with microservice development is a plus
- Experience programming with Javascript frameworks like Angular and Ember
- Experience in web application development
- Understanding of relational databases such as MS SQL Server
- Experience with non relational databases like Mongo
DB is a plus - Familiarity with Agile process
- Passion for learning new technologies
- Experience with Iaa
S & Paa
S from a cloud vendor is a plus. Azure preferred. - Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus
