Quicksilver is Cloudflare’s globally distributed key‑value store. It replicates data across tens of thousands of servers and large data centers, handling billions of keys per second. In this role you will own and support the entire stack – source code, testing, deployment, monitoring, alerting, debugging, and on‑call – ensuring fast, reliable data delivery at the edge.

• Write new features and review pull requests for a distributed large‑scale key‑value store implemented in Go.
• Improve performance, CPU utilization, memory usage, and other system metrics.
• Enhance monitoring, instrumentation, and debugging tools – all written in Go.
• Investigate and debug hard‑to‑reproduce operational issues.

• Proven experience with storage systems, peer‑to‑peer networking, large‑scale distributed systems, or system programming.
• Strong background in troubleshooting across multiple layers of a software stack;
  
  
  
  curiosity and flexibility are essential.
• Autonomous, self‑directed, and comfortable designing simple, effective solutions for complex problems.
• Experience writing clean, performant code in Go.
• Enjoyable code collaboration, constructive criticism, and teamwork.
• Comfortable working
  - call, including during unconventional hours.
