Senior Solutions Design Engineer, Worldwide Design and Engineering

Are you an innovative engineer eager to design the next generation of
- class fulfillment centers and logistics systems globally? Do you seek a high level of ownership in solving complex problems? Are you interested in designing intralogistics systems that leverage groundbreaking automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and robotics? If so, this role might be for you!

We are looking to add a
- impact engineer to our team in Europe / United Kingdom. The ideal candidate will have a proven background in creating
- performance physical systems, strong technical
- solving skills, excellent project management abilities, and motivation to achieve results in a
- paced, often ambiguous environment. You will partner with internal and external teams to design
- quality,
- effective solutions for our fulfillment and distribution systems, owning multiple projects from concept to design approval. You will serve as the primary technical contact for suppliers, and once designs are approved, collaborate with our Ops Engineering team during installation, commissioning, and launch to ensure successful implementation.

Your projects will include greenfield sites, brownfield upgrades, and retrofits, covering fulfillment centers,
- dock facilities, specialty facilities (e. g. , reverse logistics, hazmat), and ground and air transportation centers across North America and Europe. Projects will range from
- based to
- designed solutions.

Key job responsibilities

1. Invent, design, and implement engineering solutions to complex material flow, transformation, and efficiency problems across the global Amazon supply chain.
2. Lead and coordinate design and innovation efforts to develop optimal solutions for fulfillment and transportation networks, considering equipment specifications, material flow, process design, site layout, and intellectual property.
3. Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to generate
   - quality,
   - effective solutions within tight deadlines.
4. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, influencing, negotiating, and communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders, contractors, and vendors.
5. Provide technical leadership for
   - scale engineering projects.
6. Communicate vision, detailed roadmaps, and technical solutions clearly to senior executives to build compelling business cases.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• Experience in design/innovation engineering, manufacturing, process, or industrial engineering.
• Experience managing engineering design projects.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Project, CAD software.
• Ability to travel 20% globally.

Preferred qualifications

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or related field with at least five years of experience in the material handling intralogistics industry.
• Experience with automated material handling equipment, robotics, packaging technologies, and
  - speed manufacturing.
• Knowledge of process design based on Lean principles.
• Understanding of system architecture, optimization, system dynamics, and data analysis.
• Design-in-safety experience.
