Job Overview

The professional will contribute to the design, development and optimisation of Datalab and Datamart solutions built on Teradata technology, collaborating closely with other members of the Data Tribe.

The ideal candidate has a strong technical background in SQL, ETL development and data modelling, combined with solid experience in Unix environments and best practices for data management. You will be responsible for ensuring efficient data loading, transformation and exposure for analytical and reporting purposes.

Required Experience & Technical Skills

• 4+ years of experience in Teradata development and data warehouse projects.
• Proficiency in Teradata SQL (query optimisation, transaction management, performance analysis).
• Deep knowledge of ETL processes and tools such as BTEQ and TPT.
• Solid experience with Unix/Linux environments (directory management, storage usage, scripting).
• Experience with CONTROL‑M or similar job scheduling tools.
• Strong understanding of data modelling concepts (Star/Snowflake schemas, normalisation).
• Familiarity with Python, Shell or Bash scripting.
• Experience with Git for version control and collaborative development.
• Knowledge of data governance, security and compliance best practices.
• Analytical mindset and strong problem‑solving skills for performance tuning and issue resolution.

Nice to Have

• Experience with reporting and BI tools such as MSBI or Qlik Sense.
• Understanding of data lineage and metadata management tools like Zeenea.
• Exposure to agile delivery environments and collaboration with cross‑disciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain Teradata‑based Datalab and Datamart solutions, ensuring data quality, consistency and performance.
• Develop ETL processes for data collection, transformation and integration from multiple sources using BTEQ, TPT and other Teradata utilities.
• Implement data models (logical and physical) following best practices in normalisation, Star Schema and Snowflake designs.
• Create complex SQL queries and optimise performance for large data environments.
• Develop data exposure views for reporting and analytics tools (e. g. MSBI, Qlik Sense).
• Work with CONTROL‑M to automate data workflows and scheduling processes.
• Use Python, Shell or Bash scripting to automate tasks and support system integration.
• Ensure data governance and security compliance, including encryption, access management and traceability.
• Collaborate with functional teams using tools such as Git, Jira, Confluence, MEGA and Zeenea.
• Contribute to both project activities (new developments) and operational support (production process execution, troubleshooting and performance tuning).
