Settlement Claims Officer

About The Job

The Settlement Claims Officer mission is to ensure the integrity and exhaustiveness of detection, payment and receipt of interest that result from late settlements under BNP Paribas Arbitrage and BNP Paribas SA. The scope covers Forex and Money Market, Equities and Bonds as well as Equity Derivatives.

Your Main Activities Are

• Daily integration, verification and detection of claims folders opened after late settlement.
• Booking of claims received and paid from and to external counterparties in the appropriate database and performing first‑level control of claim legitimacy.
• Sending claim letters for further receipt to counterparties within 60 days and chasing their payment.
• Co‑operating with Back Offices and counterparties to progress claim status, taking action to close folders in a timely manner, following up constant database updates.
• Generating swift payment and following up cash breaks.
• Impact the interest claims on the trading portfolio.
• Proposing new developments or improvements in the existing chain to secure processes and reduce operational risk.
• Formalizing team procedures and operating guides.

Profile And Skills To Success

• Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Finance and/or Accounting.
• No more than 2 years of professional experience in accounting or finance.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Microsoft Excel.
• Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
• Teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Client‑focused mindset.
• Proactive attitude.
