We are hiring a Software Architect for Canonical LXD and Micro
Cloud. Our goal is to make clusters of compute, with system containers or virtual machines, easy to deploy and manage. This involves distributed systems, virtualization, container technology, networking, and storage. The role involves leading the architecture, design, and evolution of LXD and Micro
Cloud.

The ideal candidate has experience in Golang and C, with leadership qualities to guide a team and ship
- quality products. Knowledge of modern cloud infrastructure APIs and technologies is essential.

This is a
- based position available in EMEA and the Americas, with biannual travel for company events.

Responsibilities include:

1. Leading the architecture of LXD and Micro
   Cloud
2. Mentoring and developing team members
3. Developing in Golang and C
4. Reviewing code
5. Ensuring security and performance
6. Providing technical leadership
7. Participating in global travel for team events

Qualifications:

• Strong academic background in high school and university
• Degree in Computer Science or STEM
• Proven drive and ability to exceed expectations
• Technical leadership and team motivation skills
• Self-organized and reliable
• Professional communication skills in English
• Experience with Go, C, storage, networking, virtualization, container technologies, and distributed systems
• Linux experience (Debian/Ubuntu preferred)
• Interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability
