Job Overview

We are seeking a talented Software Developer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will contribute to developing and optimizing the software systems that power our hydrofoil vessels. The software system ranges from wings control to the pilot interfaces and even system optimization. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain C++ software for vessel control systems
• Collaborate in a
  - functional engineering team to integrate software with mechanical and electrical systems
• Implement and test algorithms for vessel stability, navigation, and performance optimization
• Develop and improve system interfaces and communication protocols
• Document code, processes, and technical specifications
• Troubleshoot and resolve software issues through systematic debugging
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
• Stay current with relevant technologies and industry developments
• Contribute to the certification process of the vessels and to the system’s robustness through unit and integration testing

Required Qualifications and Soft-Skills

• Master's degree in Electrical or Informatics Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent field
• 2-3 years of professional experience in programming:
  
  C++, PLC (Beckhoff systems), Python
• Strong understanding of software development principles and practices
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git)
• Excellent
  - solving skills and attention to detail
• Self-driven and able to work effectively in a collaborative,
  - paced environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts clearly
• Passion for sustainable technology and innovation
• Proficiency in English

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Knowledge of embedded software development
• Familiarity with marine systems or hydrofoil technology
• Experience with sensor integration and data processing
• Background in control systems or automation
• Experience with communication protocols such as UDP, CAN, and Ethernet
• Experience in Data Analysis, in particular with Python
• Systems architecture:
  
  Definition of software applications and the interactions between them, software interfaces
• CI/CD:
  
  Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery system development and deployment
• Cybersecurity
• Development of simulation environments for the boat systems
• Integration of ML/AI tools
• Proficiency in Portuguese
