Software Development Trainee
Software Development Trainee – Fault Management (4G/5G RAN)
Job Description: This job requires a knowledge of software engineering practices and design patterns with focus on modern C++ application development in embedded environments.
As a trainee, you will join a cross‑functional development team working on software for optical network products. You will have the chance to be involved in different stages of the development cycle, including analysis, design, implementation and testing of new software features. You will be encouraged to share your ideas, ask questions and contribute to team discussions, helping us continuously improve our methods, software, and overall team experience. The team strives to write clean, decoupled, and testable code with a clear separation of components and responsibilities.
Position: Internship
Duration: 12 months
Start date: January, 2026
Location: Hybrid in Carnaxide, Portugal
Education Recommendations: Currently a candidate finishing their BSc or MSc degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with an accredited school.
How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn
- Develop applications in C++11 and above;
- Write
- tests,
-
- end tests and stress testing; - Develop code in accordance with the system design and coding standards with senior supervision;
- Review the code of peer developers.
Key Skills And Experience
- Ms
C degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications or related field; - Fluent in English, spoken and written;
- Knowledge in C++. Willingness to work with and learn modern C++, asynchronous programming and
- testing.
It would be nice if you also had
- Good communication skills including ability to share knowledge;
- Strong troubleshooting and
- solving abilities; - Knowledge of any of the following will be a plus: gtest, python, git, svn;
- Knowledge of Optical Telecommunication Technologies.
