What you will be doing

• Developing and maintaining backend services to support the delivery of AI‑powered capabilities at Zendesk scale.
• Working closely with Product, Management, Data Science, and ML Engineers to define feature scope and implementation approaches.
• Automating deployment pipelines for crucial AI‑powered services and products.
• Actively collaborating to evolve workflows and processes with the team.
• Supporting our deployed services to ensure a high level of stability and reliability.
• Pairing with more experienced colleagues and learning from each other.

What you bring to the role

Basic Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Engineering, or Mathematics.
• 4+ years of experience with at least one of the following server‑side programming languages and the matching testing frameworks: Node
  JS, Python.
• 4+ years of experience with web application observability and storage stacks: Data
  Dog, Grafana, My
  SQL, Mongo
  DB, Redis, Elastic
  Search.
• 2+ years of experience with My
  SQL or Mongo
  DB database systems.
• Proven record of software application development in industry.
• Good understanding of architecture and software design patterns for server‑side and web domains.
• Great communication skills and fluency in English.
• Collaborative and growth mindset with a desire for continuous learning.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic experience managing and deploying cloud services in AWS.
• Experience implementing systems that serve content at web scale with high availability guarantees.
• Experience with high‑throughput messaging systems like Kafka.
• Experience with graph databases, e. g. , Neo4J, Amazon Neptune.

Hybrid Work

In this role, hybrid experience is designed at the team level to give you a rich onsite experience while also allowing flexibility for remote work part of the week. This role must attend our local office for part of the week, and the specific in‑office schedule will be determined by the hiring manager.
