Ops Engineer

The Synopsys Design
Ware Prototyping Team in Porto, Portugal, part of a global team, develops Linux drivers, contributes to kernel. org, creates debug tools, prototyping environments, and handles hardware validation and compliance testing of Synopsys Design
Ware Interface IPs (PCIe, Ethernet, HDMI, MIPI, etc. ).

We are seeking a creative, enthusiastic, and talented engineer for the Dev
Ops Engineer role in this team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Software architecture, design, and implementation for bare metal and embedded systems
• Creating technical documentation, including requirements, specifications, and test plans
• Collaborating with Controller R&D, PHY R&D, and FPGA teams to ensure hardware/software compatibility and influence hardware design
• Developing test scenarios and automated routines for software validation
• Supporting internal teams and customers

Key Requirements:

• BSc in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
• Strong skills in C programming, Bash and/or Python scripting
• Experience with revision control tools (Git, SVN, or similar)
• Experience with embedded build systems (Buildroot, Open Embedded, or similar) is a plus
• Excellent communication skills in English, proactive,
  - oriented, passionate about technology, and committed to continuous improvement
• Willingness to travel occasionally

Preferred Experience:

• 3+ years of relevant experience
• Experience with firmware development for
  - metal platforms, Linux device drivers, kernel development, Linux applications, and Linux administration
• Experience with embedded build systems and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, JIRA, etc. )
