Job Description

A Software Engineer applies a systematic approach to the development, delivery, maintenance, and operation of software products and services. They work with others across the business to understand customer needs and develop
- value solutions. They are accountable for the design and implementation of solutions that meet software functional and
- functional requirements and adhere to established development standards. Throughout the lifecycle, the Software Engineer is a consultant to others in their area(s) of expertise and continually develops relevant skills.

More specifically, you will:

• Be competent in SDLC and actively participate in all major activities (Planning, Stand Up, Story Time, etc. )
• Develop skills using TDD and CI practices
• Function as an individual contributor, completing small tasks independently
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Product Owners, Development Managers, Quality Assurance, Experience Design, and other technical staff to refine requirements and designs
• Participate on
  - functional teams to deliver solutions from inception to customer delivery
• Improve processes, standards, and practices
• Work as a team member and with senior developers on complex stories & tasks
• Pair program effectively with junior & senior developers
• Develop programs consistent with Sovos coding standards & conventions
• Build expertise in at least one specific technical area (Database, SAP, Web Development, etc. )
• Be competent in at least one Sovos application
• Find and update relevant documentation during development
• Able to triage and resolve simple engineering escalations
• Work with team members to solve complex problems
• Troubleshoot issues & bugs within their application of expertise
• Apply defined practices/procedures to design, implement, and support individual software projects
• Build effective working relationships with team members
• Contribute to technical design documentation, release notes, bug fix documentation
• Design and perform testing protocols to ensure full product testing
• Deliver
  - quality,
  - ready code satisfying all requirements
• Multitask in a
  - paced environment while maintaining integrity, reliability, and professionalism
• Have knowledge of multiple
  - oriented programming languages, including C# and Java

What We Need From You:

• BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related experience
• 4+ years of software development experience
• Full stack development experience, especially with backend (. NET 8/9) and frontend (REACT)
• Solid knowledge of Micro frontend and distributed architecture
• Experience with Docker containers and Kubernetes/EKS orchestration
• Knowledge of Postgres and Mongo
  DB
• Experience with Cloud AWS: MQ, Lambda, Aurora
• Knowledge of Rabbit
  MQ, Service Bus, or SQS
• Fluent in English (speaking, writing, reading)
