- Note: Availability for international travel is required (e. g. , France, Senegal, and other locations).
Overview / Summary:
Our client is seeking a versatile Electrical Project Engineer to join their Engineering Department in Porto. This role combines technical expertise in solar PV systems with strong project leadership and stakeholder communication skills.
You will act as a key link between the engineering team and other departments (Sales, Construction, Procurement, etc. ), providing technical support during the
- sales phase, transforming customer requirements into technical documentation, and ensuring alignment throughout project development and execution.
The position offers exposure to both internal projects and external
- party projects, with activities ranging from
- contract technical support to the review of detailed engineering deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
Pre-Sales & Technical Support
- Provide technical support to EPC Sales during project negotiation and bidding phases.
- Translate customer requirements into clear and accurate technical documentation.
- Support contract preparation and technical approval processes.
Project Leadership & Coordination
- Act as the technical Project Leader, ensuring alignment between engineering and all project stakeholders.
- Coordinate and communicate with Sales, Construction, Procurement, and other departments to gather inputs and relay them effectively to the engineering team.
- Manage technical interfaces with suppliers, subcontractors, and partners.
Engineering & Documentation
- Develop and review electrical drawings and single line diagrams (SLDs).
- Design complete solar PV plant layouts from scratch, including preliminary studies, optimization of configuration, and
- financial analysis. - Support the preparation of preliminary layouts and technical studies.
- Conduct capacity studies and evaluate design alternatives for technical and financial optimization.
- Review and validate designs from subcontractors.
- Prepare bills of quantities and other technical deliverables (reports, drawings, O&M manuals, etc. ).
Site & Execution Support
- Participate in site surveys and provide technical assistance during construction phases.
- Support the preparation of As-Built documentation and ensure design reflects
- site changes.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Degree or Master's in Electrical or Electrotechnical Engineering (specialization in Energy Systems preferred).
- At least 3 years of experience in electrical engineering, including proven experience in designing solar PV plants from concept to final layout - this is mandatory. If the candidate does not meet this requirement, it will be grounds for exclusion by our client.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Auto
CAD, and electrical design software. - Fluent in English; French is a plus.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
