Solution Engineer – Hyperscale Data Center
This role can be based remotely (home office) in Denmark, Finland, France Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Sweden, or UK.

Duties & Responsibilities :
The Solution Engineer plays a critical role in supporting and enabling sales on VIAVI Hyperscale Data Center portfolio which includes fiber optic solutions, loss testers, power meters, fiber
- face inspection, and
- Ethernet technologies.
This role aligns with the EMEA sales strategy. The Solution Engineer will work closely with the sales team and with selected key account managers and channel partners. This position will take responsibility of any
- level technical
- and
- sales activities, like demonstrations of VIAVI product solutions,
- customer product training / product familiarization, or joining selected partner / VIAVI events (technical seminars, webinars and roadshows). The individual will also have to transfer product and related technology knowledge to the VIAVI Sales team and to the channel partners. In conjunction with Sales, this person will be accountable for the bookings number of the related product / solution portfolio in the region covered in addition to owning account penetration in the related ecosystem.
The Solution Engineer is responsible for the introduction, implementation, product familiarization and
- up of any Fiber and Metro-Ethernet test portfolio in the Hyperscale DC (Inside and Outside Plant infrastructure) in all EMEA and is expected to proactively address customer escalations, ensuring successful and effective resolution in collaboration with concerned internal teams (sales, technical assistance, and product managers).
The Mission :
Collaborate with Sales teams and ecosystem partners to understand customer needs and project goals.
Recommend and position the most suitable test and automation solutions based on technical and operational requirements.
Lead technical product demonstrations / presentation and

- concept trials to showcase capabilities and value.
Understands basic and advanced test methodologies from onsite process to closeout reporting requirements.
Provide technical guidance during evaluation phases to ensure successful outcomes.
Provide technical
- on training and onboarding for field teams, contractors, and customers on test equipment, automation systems, and data / reporting tools.
Act as a trusted advisor during deployment, offering
- time support and guidance to ensure smooth implementation.
Capture field insights to drive product and workflow improvements : Work closely with product managers to tailor solutions to
- world environments and evolving customer needs.
Self-motivated in penetrating opportunities and accounts for sales enablement.
Deliver education and awareness of test and reporting methods and procedures to our customer base.
Liaise with customers on instrument field trials or method and procedure implementation.
Help discover ecosystem trends and activities as well as optimize product positioning to capture sales.
Transfer basics of product / technologies knowledge to Sales / channel partners during specific and regular training sessions.
Measurement of progress, gaps and recovery actions when needed.
As part of the technical support sales team, accountable for driving sales growth in the region.
Travel Required : Around 50% all over EMEA (but mainly North / Central and South regions).
Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science or a related technical field (Master’s degree is a plus).
5+ years of experience in Cloud / Hyperscale and or MTDC / Colocation markets with DC infrastructure testing expertise (Construction, commissioning and DC operations of DC Inside Plant and Outside Plant infrastructure).
Existing strong relationships and trust within the vendor and contractor ecosystem.
Knowledge of industry test standards such as ISO 14763-3 and IEC 61280-4-5
Familiarity with hyperscaler standards and requirements. Inside Plant (ISP) and Outside Plant (OSP) fiber.
Strong fiber optics technologies and connectivity background with deep knowledge in VSFF (Very Small Form Factors), Multi-fiber testing (MPO / MMC) and High Fiber count among other areas.
Strong
- on experience with Fiber & Metro-Ethernet testing using OLTS, OTDR, Fiber inspection tool and Ethernet testers (10GE, 100GE, 400G, 800G, …).
Proven ability to manage project, coordinate across multiple teams and vendors.
Competence in test data analysis and SW reporting tools (cloud and SW reporting platforms).
Ability to influence and guide contractors and field teams toward best practices and operational optimization.
Good communication and interpersonal skills, especially in training and mentoring roles.
Proven experience in using /
- sales technical support with major vendors and T&M equipment vendors.
Language skills : Fluent in English (main professional language), other European languages desired – German, French, Spanish.
