Solutions Engineer - Remote - EU
At CVEDIA, we develop cutting‑edge AI‑driven video analytics solutions that help organizations enhance security, safety, and operational efficiency. Our products are deployed in real‑world environments around the globe – from smart cities and critical infrastructure to retail, transportation, and beyond.
Our technology evolves quickly, and so does our team. We’re looking for a Solutions Engineer / Field Application Engineer who is passionate about hands‑on technical work, real‑world deployments, and making sure customers get reliable, high‑performing solutions in production.
This is more than just a support role, it’s an opportunity to become a go‑to technical expert on AI video analytics: how it installs, runs, scales, and behaves in the field. You’ll help shape how our products are tested, deployed, and optimized in real customer environments.
Location: Remote
Type: Full‑time
Work hours: 11:00 – 20:00 UK time zone
What You’ll Do
As a Solutions Engineer / Field Application Engineer, you’ll be the technical backbone of real‑world deployments. You’ll test our products, validate them in realistic setups, support customers with production questions, and help define best practices for running CVEDIA software in the field.
Key responsibilities will include:
1. Technical Testing & Validation
- Build, configure, and maintain test systems (both on Windows and Linux environments)
- Design and run realistic test scenarios that mirror customer deployments (different hardware, camera setups, loads, etc. )
- Validate new features, releases, and bug fixes before they reach customers
- Identify issues, gather logs, and work closely with engineering to reproduce and resolve them
2. Deployment Support & Best Practices
- Act as a technical expert for production and deployment‑related questions from customers and partners
- Recommend hardware configurations (CPU/GPU, storage, memory) and deployment architectures that match customer use cases
- Advise on best configurations for performance, stability, and reliability (e. g. , streaming settings, resource allocation, scaling strategies)
- Help customers and partners plan and execute Po
Cs, pilots, and production rollouts
3. API & Integration Support
- Work with REST APIsb> to help customers integrate CVEDIA products into their systems and workflows
- Test and validate integrations with third‑party systems (VMS, platforms, dashboards, automation tools, etc. )
- Create and share example requests, workflows, and troubleshooting steps for API‑based integrations
4. Customer Feedback & Product Insights
- Join customer calls to understand real‑world technical challenges and deployment constraints
- Collect and structure field feedback on performance, usability, and edge cases
- Share actionable insights with product and engineering teams to improve reliability, configuration options, and deployment tooling
5. Tooling, Automation & CI/CD (Nice to Have)
- Contribute to automation of tests and repeatable validation flows when possible
- Collaborate with engineering on improving CI/CD pipelines and test coverage (no need to be a Dev
Ops expert, but interest is a plus)
What You’ll Need to Succeed
We don’t expect you to know everything on day one, we’ll help you ramp up on our products and domain. But you should bring a strong technical foundation, curiosity, and a passion for making things work reliably in the real world.
Technical Expertise (Must‑Haves)
- Windows & Linux Experience
- Strong experience using and administering Linux systems
- Comfortable with the command line, system services, networking basics, and performance monitoring on both Windows and Linux
- REST API Proficiency
- Hands‑on experience with REST API
- Able to read API documentation, construct requests, debug responses, and explain flows to others
- Deployment & Debugging Skills
- Experience installing, configuring, and running server applications in production‑like environments
- Ability to inspect logs, diagnose issues, and work methodically through problems
- Familiarity with concepts like resource usage (CPU/GPU/RAM), services/daemons, and process monitoring
- Hardware & System Awareness
- Understanding of how hardware choices (CPU vs GPU, edge device vs server) impact performance and capacity
- Comfortable testing on different hardware setups and documenting the impact on performance and scalability
Bonus Skills (Nice to Have, Not Required)
- Exposure to CI/CD tools (Git
Hub Actions, Git
Lab CI, Jenkins, etc. ) and automated testing workflows - Experience with containers (Docker) and modern deployment practices
- Familiarity with video streaming, RTSP, VMS platforms, or camera‑based systems
Customer & Collaboration Skills
- Field‑Focused Problem Solver – You enjoy tackling real‑world issues where environments are messy, constraints are real, and the ‘perfect lab conditions’ don’t exist
- Clear Communicator – Able to explain technical findings and recommendations in a way that both engineers and non‑technical stakeholders can understand
- Curious & Self‑Driven – You like to explore, test, break things safely, and learn how they behave under pressure
- Team Player – You’ll collaborate with engineering, product, sales, and customer‑facing teams to make deployments successful
What Makes This Role Exciting
✅ Direct Impact on Real Deployments
You won’t be working on theoretical scenarios. The systems you test and the recommendations you make will directly affect how customers run AI analytics in production.
✅ Deep Technical Ownership
You’ll become a subject matter expert in how CVEDIA’s products behave in real environments, from hardware selection to configuration tuning.
✅ Varied, Hands‑On Work
One day you’ll be testing a new release on a GPU server; the next, you’ll be helping a partner debug a deployment or validating a new integration via REST API.
✅ Growth into Your Strengths
Interested in Dev
Ops, automation, performance engineering, or product? This role leaves room to grow in the direction that excites you most.
