What You'll Do As a Solutions Engineer, Cloudflare Platform

Cloudflare operates as a platform and blends the demarcation of individual product suites to create value by combining solutions across the portfolio. As a critical member of our Specialist Team, you act as a bridge between Sales, Pre-Sales, Network Strategy, Engineering, Product management and support to ensure novel use cases are well understood inside the sales organization, positioned with the customer, and secured within product, engineering and support teams for stable operation in the customer environment.

You will dive deep into the Cloudflare platform, explore how things work inside the platform, and learn to navigate new areas where processes may be evolving. You will build a broad internal network to drive outcomes and contribute to new motions in uncharted parts of the platform and organization. You will help clients find the best cross‑platform solutions with a focus on first‑of‑a‑kind cases.

You will be a trusted technical advisor helping clients with cross‑platform use cases and ensuring successful outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Guide qualified prospects through solution design, highlighting Cloudflare Platform capabilities.
• Drive Proof of Concept stages with
  - on engagement, debugging, and clear communication.
• Collaborate with Sales Partners to achieve pipeline and revenue goals.
• Capture client requirements, design optimized Cloudflare solutions, and communicate benefits, challenges, and migration paths.
• Support technical discussions to ensure sound design and overcome objections.
• Contribute to
  -
  - market efforts through blogs, reference materials, public speaking, user groups, and conferences.

Qualifications

• Strong curiosity and learning agility.
• 5-8 years of prior technical sales, computer engineering, or related experience.
• Ability to operate across the entire Cloudflare portfolio and platform.
• Solid understanding of systems and network architecture and engineering fundamentals.
• Fundamental understanding of customer network and application architectures; internet fundamentals (BGP, DNS, routing).
• Experience with SASE, Zero Trust, and related security concepts, and with WAF, Bot Management, DDo
  S, DNS, and CDN products.
• Hands-on mentality with labs/Po
  Cs and API familiarity (REST/JSON, Terraform, scripting with Python).
• Knowledge of SIEM/log analytics and security trends; ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.

Other desirable skills

• You have built a web application and can explain design decisions.
• Experience debugging the Cloudflare platform.
• Industry certifications (e. g. , CISSP, CISA, CEH, OSCP).
• Experience in one or two industry verticals; cloud provider certifications are a plus.
