What You Will Do
The Sr Associate IS Business System Analyst offers a unique opportunity to join a fun, innovative engineering team within the AI & Data Science (AI&D) organization. You’ll work on
- generation capabilities and services in Applied AI & Automation using COTS products,
- source software, frameworks, tools, and cloud computing services. The role supports critical business operations and initiatives, ensuring quality, compliance, and performance across Amgen’s Applied AI & Automation footprint.
Responsibilities include detailing product requirements as epics and user stories, and producing artifacts such as business process maps, use cases, and test plans for software development teams. You will collaborate with developers and business analysts to ensure technical requirements are thoroughly elaborated, enabling accurate estimation, planning, and delivery, and you will help identify test cases and scenarios to ensure IT system quality and performance. You will work with Product Managers and developers to maintain an efficient process and ensure
- quality deliverables.
- Work with Product Owners and customers to define scope and value for software solutions.
- Capture the voice of the customer to define business processes and product needs.
- Collaborate with Engineering, testing teams, and Product Management to prioritize release scope and groom the Product backlog.
- Facilitate the breakdown of Use Cases into Features and Sprints and participate in backlog reviews with the development team.
- Clearly express features in User Stories/requirements so all team members understand how they fit into the product backlog.
- Maintain and ensure the quality of documented user stories/requirements in tools such as Jira.
- Ensure Feature Acceptance Criteria and Definition of Done are
- defined. - Work closely with UX to align technical requirements, scenarios, and business process maps with User Experience designs.
- Validate that test scenarios meet feature acceptance criteria and customer expectations.
- Stay focused on software development to ensure it meets requirements, providing proactive feedback to collaborators.
- Develop and implement effective product demonstrations for internal and external collaborators.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree and 1 to 3 years of experience with Agile software development methodologies (Scrum) OR
- Bachelor’s degree and 3 to 5 years of experience with Agile software development methodologies (Scrum) OR
- Diploma and 7 to 9 years of experience with Agile software development methodologies (Scrum)
Must-Have Skills:
- Experience as a Scrum Master in Agile and SAFe environments
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with senior leadership with confidence and clarity
- Excellent
- solving skills and a passion for tackling complex challenges in drug discovery with technology - Experience in writing requirements for development of modern web applications and/or automation solutions
- Experience with writing user requirements and acceptance criteria in agile project management systems such as Jira
- Experience with business process design /
- engineering
Good-to-Have Skills:
- Scrum Master Certification
- Familiarity with Gx
P, CFR 21 Part 11 and systems validation - Experience with tools like SIPOC diagrams, value stream maps, and process capability analysis
- Experience with BPMN modeling tools
- Familiarity with Automation technologies (e. g. , Ui
Path, Docu
Sign, Power Platform, Chat
GPT, etc. ) - Demonstrated expertise in a scientific domain area and related technology needs
- Understanding of scientific software systems strategy, governance, and infrastructure
- Experience in managing product features for PI planning and developing product roadmaps and user journeys
- Able to communicate technical concepts in business terms

- Knowledge of network security protocols and tools (e. g. , IPSEC, SSL, IDS/IPS, firewalls)

- SAFe for Teams certification
