International Sr Therapeutic Specialist
Responsibilities
- Prepare business plan regional and account plans for your territory aligned to local brand plan priorities for HIV, communicate required actions to achieve goals. With guidance, initiate systems to monitor sales progress and action plans.
- Responsible for identifying and mapping out patient referral journey pathways within the HIV on your territory and facilitating patient access to treatment.
- Responsible for achieving sales targets in assigned territory.
- Responsible for working in partnership with Regional Market Access and Medical colleagues and Mkt, to ensure local access is in place for HIV Gilead medicines.
- Establish and develop business relationships with key customers, accounts, and relevant key opinion leaders. Responsible for setting and achieving customer contact plans and delivering on related KPIs.
- Manage territory budgets for customer contacts, speaker events and other miscellaneous external expenditures.
- May represent company at professional events and promote company products at such events.
- Work
- operatively with Gilead Medical Scientists, National Account Managers, Marketing and Market Access on various cross‑functional projects. - Assist in the identification and resolution of issues and opportunities, communicate proactively to Marketing and Sales management.
- Complete necessary administrative tasks in a timely manner e. g. updating customer database, expenses, etc.
- Responsible for achieving the competency levels required in the role.
- Compliance with country regulations and code of conduct at all times.
- Role will require travel and depending on location the need for overnight stays.
Knowledge & Skills
Has a proven track record of successful pharmaceutical medical or healthcare sales experience and relevant disease/product knowledge, along with strong influencing and negotiating skills, honed in highly competitive markets.
Is familiar with industry trends and remains current with competitor’s resources and practices. Can speak to the pros and cons (overall goals of plan, cost vs. efficacy, dosing, duration, etc. ) of a product protocol, and asks in‑depth questions of experts to clarify understanding.
Proactively identifies issues, opportunities, and resolutions and is able to present and effectively communicate issues and recommendations to marketing and sales management.
Serves as a technical expert of assigned product, therapeutic/disease classes, and patient needs in order to educate/influence key physicians/community members. Can credibly discuss the science of therapeutic products with relevant stakeholders.
Demonstrates a sound understanding of external business drivers and internal company operations. Understands Gilead staffing and decision‑making networks, and how to get work done within the institution. Incorporates this knowledge into business plans.
Education & Experience
Typical candidates will possess a BA or BS degree, and 6+ years of relevant sales experience within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry; experience must include 4+ years in specialty sales or the appropriate therapeutic area. 2+ years as a Therapeutic Specialist is preferred. Achievement of any mandatory country‑specific pharmaceutical sales certifications is essential.
