Responsibilities

• Leading
  - team projects and initiatives, facilitating
  - team communication and collaboration
• Mentoring engineers and fostering their growth, coaching teams to continuously improve delivery pace and quality, and providing feedback to support career development
• Acting as a force multiplier by building systems, authoring tools, or introducing policies and patterns that raise organizational productivity

Strategic Technical Direction

• Setting
  - term strategic technical direction (6+ months ahead), identifying areas of greatest need and opportunity across the engineering organization, and creating plans for improvement with stakeholder
  - in
• Navigating ambiguity effectively, defining next steps that align with Engineering and company needs, and stepping in as a contributor on any team when needed

Architecture & Technical Excellence

• Collaborating and recommending architectural solutions, while understanding and explaining
  - offs around time to market, structural and functional quality, security, maintainability, resources, and scope
• Using data and facts to debate technical architecture decisions with team members and stakeholders to gain
  - in
• Exercising and improving Beyond-'s engineering practices such as refactoring, pairing, code reviews, collective code ownership, containers, Ia
  C, CI/CD, observability

System Reliability & Operations

• Leading
  - up on incidents, proactively improving systems to prevent recurrence, and enhancing monitoring capabilities for faster detection
• Supporting and maintaining the existing code baseline and products
• Fostering
  - awareness by advocating for
  - saving initiatives and diligently monitoring spending across existing systems

Qualifications

Technical Expertise

• 9+ years of experience building services in a
  - tenant Saa
  S environment with whole platform scope
• Expert-level proficiency in primary focus area (Backend/Frontend/Data/Dev
  Ops) with strong proficiency across all systems and platform layers. Core stack includes: Data (Data
  Proc, Delta Lake, Airflow, Py
  Spark, Kafka, DBT, Postgres, Click
  House), Application Development (Postgres, Rabbit
  MQ, Redis, Django, React), Infrastructure (GCP compute engine, Hetzner, Ansible, Terraform, Nomad, Docker, uwsgi, nginx, Datadog, Sentry, Mezmo, Post
  Hog), and LLMs (Lang
  Chain, Lang
  Graph, Lang
  Smith)

Leadership & Project Management

• 4+ years of experience as a tech lead, including leading
  - team initiatives and projects
• Proven track record of championing and executing 2+ technical migrations or large
  - month platform projects
• Experience mentoring engineers, supporting their career growth, and fostering team development

Product & Business Mindedness

• Strong product and business mindedness with demonstrated ability to connect technical work to measurable business outcomes
• Experience making
  - driven technical decisions that optimize for business impact rather than technical elegance

Operational Excellence & SLA-Driven Engineering

• CI/CD operational excellence,
  - based development, and feature flagging for controlled deployments
• Track record with
  - class DORA metrics: high deployment frequency, low change failure rates, and rapid lead times for changes
• Experience with comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and observability systems focused on
  - critical functionality
• Experience with autonomous team structures following high cohesion, loose coupling principles for independent
  - making
• Demonstrates understanding of Conway’s Law and designs systems accordingly while focusing on the system side

Strategic & Communication Skills
