How you will make an impact:

As a staff backend software engineer at Iterable, you'll be responsible for the core product for engineering Iterable used by our growing customer base. In this role, the focus is working on projects/efforts that have strategic value for the company while driving technical design and

Our Technology Stack:

Programming Language: Scala

Databases: Elasticsearch, Postgres, Redis, CRDB

Infrastructure: Pulsar, Kafka, AWS

Other Relevant Technologies: Docker / Kubernetes, React

How you will make a difference:

Architect and develop solutions to scale a complex platform that reaches millions of users.

Collaborate with
- functional teams, product, and design to conceptualize and build new product features.

Provide direction for your team and guide standards across the Engineering organization.

Improve the engineering processes, tooling, and efficiency.

Contribute to the code review process by offering suggestions for improvement, helping to define and enforce coding standards.

Leverage design discussions and other team engagements as an opportunity to level up your team and the product.

We are looking for people who have:

6+ years of previous software engineering work experience.

Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (ideally Scala and/or Java)

Experience leading
- person projects that have high complexity in terms of deep technical or product challenges, uncertainty, concurrent work streams, or
- team and
- functional dependencies.

Extensive experience with Elasticsearch and/or other relevant technologies like Postgres.

Desire to work in a highly remote/distributed but collaborative environment. (Iterable has offices in San Francisco, Denver, and New York, but the vast majority of Engineering has chosen to work remotely).

A track record of delivering highly valued features, focusing on operational excellence, and mentoring engineers up to senior level.

Willingness to take
- call responsibilities.

Fluency in English (verbal and written).

Legally authorized to work in the EU.
