Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, code, debug, review, and modify new/existing software for products such as Cable Modems, EMTAs, Routers, Extenders, Gateways, Tablets, etc.
• Implement new features and extend existing functionality or develop from scratch, writing code with the required programming language and technologies, and providing complete implementation with unit testing.
• Work with Managers/Leads/Developers/Testers across locations to deliver software per the project plan within committed timelines without compromising quality, using Agile methodology.
• Collaborate with Test teams during the test phase, debug, fix, and test issues raised at multiple levels of testing, prioritizing critical or escalated issues for quick turnaround.
• Interact with Stakeholders/Architects to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications, identify changing requirements, recommend solutions, and share domain knowledge.
• Work closely with Product Management and Hardware teams to enable board bring‑ups for new devices, develop in‑house software as part of a team under tight deadlines, and collaborate on software for timely delivery.
• Prepare technical documentation related to the project/product in Confluence, providing technical write‑ups and reviewing or writing design documents as needed.
• Work with project teams to determine an appropriate build schedule and initiate the build and release process.

Required Skills

• Excellent C programming skills with 8+ years of experience.
• Experience with Embedded Real‑Time Operating Systems (Linux, e
  COS).
• Deep knowledge of the Open System Interconnection (OSI) model of networking, especially L2 & L3 and IP networking protocols.
• Experience with Wi
  Fi, WLAN specifications, protocols, test procedures, and debugging.
• Preferred stack experience: Broadcom SDKs, Qualcomm, Open
  BFC, CCSP.
• Debug skills covering IP networking, MGCP/NCS and SIP signaling protocols, DNS, DHCP, TFTP, RTP, routers and routing protocols, data load testing, and redundant/fault‑tolerant configurations.
• Good communication skills; email communication and documentation should be clear and crisp.
