What You'll Do
The Global Practices Operations Team at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) plays a pivotal role in shaping the firm’s strategic direction across its 20 industry and functional business units.
As a Strategic Development Manager, you will be part of the team led by the Chief Operating Officer (COO), working closely with the Strategic Development Senior Director and Senior Manager. In this role, you will drive strategic planning, operational enhancements, and financial oversight.
This position offers broad exposure to cross–Practice Area operations, placing you at the center of
- impact initiatives that shape BCG’s global strategy. You will apply financial expertise,
- driven insights, automation and strategic
- solving to optimize operational efficiency, create transparency and business outcomes.
Your responsibilities
- Partner with the strategic development team to define, refine and report on key operational and financial metrics to guide strategic planning, investment and sustainability efforts
- Use
- driven insights to improve performance tracking and operational efficiency; develop
- quality dashboards to support ongoing business updates - Apply analytical methodologies to generate actionable insights for Practice Areas and senior leadership; deliver
- hoc analysis in support of strategic initiatives - Develop tools to automate and improve operational workflows for Practice Areas, including leveraging Gen
AI, driving efficiency and scalability - Partner with PA Finance to ensure financial processes are aligned, accurate, and efficient
- Support project and PA teams by training them on advanced analytics tools, workflow automation, and best practices
- Build strong relationships and establish credibility as trusted analytics and technical thought partner across central Practice Area teams

What You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field
- 4–7 years of experience in consulting, strategy & operations, business intelligence or data & analytics.
- Proven ability to
- task and operate effectively in a matrixed,
- paced environment. - Experience in financial modeling, budgeting, and strategic planning
- Experience with databases and SQL scripting or the Microsoft Fabric platform is advantageous but not mandatory
- Experience in Power
Point, Excel, and visualization tools (e. g. , Tableau, Power BI). - Strong proficiency in data cleansing, transformation, and modeling using Python or R
- Proficiency in building, troubleshooting, and optimizing automated workflows using Microsoft Power Automate or similar tools.
- Comfort using collaboration platforms such as Slack, Trello, and Microsoft Teams.
- Experience working in global or virtual teams with
- functional stakeholders. - Self-starter with a high level of autonomy, drive, and energy to lead initiatives independently.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English (required).
Who You'll Work With
You will report directly to the Practice Area Operations Senior Manager, working within the Global Practices Strategic Development team under the Strategic Development Senior Director.
You will also regularly collaborate with:
- The PA Chief Operating Officer
- Practice Area Leaders
- Global Practice Management (Senior/Executive) Directors
- Other senior business unit leaders across the firm
