Drive Systems is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer - Electronics at our new production plant in Viana, Portugal.

The primary role of the SDE is to coordinate Supplier APQP activities for new product launch components, ensuring compliance with APQP procedures. This includes identifying, planning, and implementing supplier continuous improvement activities via methodologies like Value Analysis/Value Engineering, Kaizen, Lean Deployment, and Six Sigma. The SDE will also manage the disposition of Supplier PPAP submissions and train suppliers to meet client expectations.

Essential Functions:

• Supplier APQP: Assist in identifying
  - impact suppliers, visit suppliers to ensure progress, remove roadblocks, and report to the launch team.
• Supplier Continuous Improvement: Initiate and track improvement activities, employ various methodologies to reduce waste and costs.
• PPAP Management: Review and decide on supplier PPAP submissions, ensure timely completion and documentation.
• Supplier Quality Training: Conduct training sessions, host audits, and assess quality systems at supplier facilities.
• Significant Characteristics Activity: Coordinate SC identification and ensure supplier conformance and data submission.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical).

Knowledge and Experience: Automotive Tier 1 experience preferred; knowledge in manufacturing
- solving, TS 16949, SPC, Kaizen, Six Sigma, Lean, and Value Engineering is required.

Communication/Computer Skills: Strong
- solving, data analysis, and communication skills; proficient in MS Office and Lotus Notes.
