Vestas Technology & Operations> Quality> Supplier Quality & Development MED

The Supplier Quality & Development Department is part of a matrix organization covering global and regional demands collaborating with multiple internal functions i. e. procurement, engineering, manufacturing facilities, service & project management.

This position is part of the Supplier Quality & Development in Vestas MED region, which coordinates SQ&D activities and ensures the highest focus on quality, safety and environment when developing and implementing the different category strategies, while not compromising on agreed processes and the lowest total cost of ownership.

The key task is the strategic and operational development of key suppliers in South Europe, Turkey, Middle East & Africa region by performing site audits, supplier assessments and coordinating QSE improvement projects to enforce high supplier performance, zero incidents and reduce the number of
- conformities.

Responsibilities:

• Deploy the Vestas Quality, Safety and Environment Strategy towards external suppliers
• Responsible for supplier lifecycle management for a given commodity, on behalf and in compliance with regional & global strategy
• Execute new markets entry strategy & new supplier onboarding, securing only capable suppliers become part of Vestas' supply base
• Deploy APQP4Wind framework for part qualification, ensuring only capable suppliers are approved
• Drive Supplier Business Review Meetings with
  - functional participation
• Identify the systemic issues and implement a supplier development plan using quality toolbox
• Deploy a continuous improvement mindset/framework to secure supplier maturity

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent qualification
• Having +10 years of experience in a similar role/relevant industry background: steel & plate, tower manufacturing, welding, coating, NDT
• Experience in APQP framework/certified
• Certified VDA 6. 3 process auditor would be beneficial
• Green Belt Six Sigma qualification would be an asset
• Certified auditor for ISO9001, ISO14001 & OHSAS 18001 would be preferred

Competencies:

• Relevant commodity acumen (steel plate, tower manufacturing, welding, coating, NDT)
• Solid project management skills with the ability to manage complex development projects across the organization
• Experience in data analytics and strong
  - solving skills, having the ability to identify and deliver actionable solutions to complex problems
• Good communication skills, oral and written, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders within an international and
  - functional environment
• Motivation, resourcefulness, and critical thinking skills
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)

Additional Information:

This is a hybrid position based in Porto, Portugal or Madrid, Spain. This position requires 20-30% travel, primarily involving short trips, up to one week at a time.
