About the Job
The program begins with a week of professional training, which will help to enhance your technical and professional skills. You will then be assigned to our regular tasks allowing you to gain the necessary practical knowledge about the business. During the second half of the program you will work on real projects, become part of the teams and gain a real insight into the role. In order for you to gain an understanding of the other areas within Global Markets, we will include you in work‑shadowing sessions on the team. In addition, you will attend workshops, including interactive case studies, networking and social events allowing you to meet with some of our senior managers and colleagues across CIB as well as working on individual and team projects.
Your Main Activities Are
- Support the FOCS and BS&C teams in NY with ad‑hoc requests (KPIs, reporting, regulatory, etc. ).
- Assist in the development of automated tools for monitoring Global Markets Staff and performing customized data analytics.
- Contribute to the design, implementation and visualisations of the monitoring procedures to more effectively identify actual or potential conduct risk scenarios.
- Build an end‑to‑end report by improving the data collection and manipulation as well as developing/improving visualisations to be presented in committees and presentations.
- Monitor the communications of the Front Officers of Global Markets, by processing alerts generated by the monitoring tools and escalating suspicious activities.
- Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory and internal Compliance requirements.
- Document and appropriately communicate the results of the monitoring and controls to parties involved; proactively report to stakeholders behaviours or facts that could affect their control environment.
- Work with the 2nd line of defense to communicate or obtain any additional information that could allow an in‑depth study of potential violations of the rules of ethical behaviour.
- Provide business expertise and specialist advice when required by the 2nd line of defense for their investigations and analyses of real cases.
Profile and Skills to Success
- Academic background in Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, Economics, IT or similar areas (preferential).
- At least 2 years of experience in similar roles.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong teamwork mindset.
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a sense of professionalism.
- Motivated and driven to learn more about Global Markets.
- Proficient with MS Office tools (mandatory).
- Basic knowledge of Business Intelligence tools (e. g. Tableau, Power
BI) (mandatory). - Basic programming skills (e. g. Python, VBA) (mandatory).
- Fluency in English (mandatory).
About the Team
- Front Office Conduct & Surveillance (FOCS): monitors trading & sales business activity and electronic communications to detect and prevent conduct‑risk breaches and develops automated monitoring tools.
- Business Supervision & Controls (BS&C): collaborates with Trading, Sales, Structuring and Risks Management to keep non‑financial risks acceptable; a key component in the assessment and management of non‑financial risks and implementation of the controls framework.
