Sustainability Manager

As a member of Project Management team, Sustainability Manager provide expert advice which helps to solve increasingly demanding sustainability requirements in the most
- effective way and capitalise on the benefits of high sustainable performance.
Location: Sines, Portugal. This role requires being
- site during the work week. No rotation or
- in/fly-out arrangement applies.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supporting Business Unit Directors in delivering business objectives.
- Positively engaging with Customers and developing, growing and maintaining Customer relationships.
- Delivering high quality services and ensuring that deliverables meet Customers’ requirements.
- Preparation of Sustainability Statements, Energy Assessments, Energy audits, Strategic Energy Partner procurement, Life Cycle Assessments, Life Cycle Costing and Critical Analysis Assessments, BREEAM Assessments, SKA Assessments, CEEQUAL Assessments.
- Preparing tender documentation, evaluating and reporting on tenders.
- Valuing completed work.
- Providing technical advice on Energy, Environmental and Sustainability issues.
- Monitoring and validating the sustainability performance of General Contractors and Equipment Vendors on the projects in respect to their contractual commitments related to sustainability, waste management and environmental issues.
- Managing external LEED consultants to ensure the proper and timely delivery of services.
- Producing and presenting reports to client.
- Advising Directors promptly of any issues that have arisen, or that might arise, on projects; in particular those that might impact on Gleeds professional indemnity (PI) insurance.

Who we’re looking for
Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills
- Simular experience of work in Energy, Environmental and Sustainability role in the EU.
- A good understanding of the wider sustainability issues surrounding the construction industry.
- Understanding in energy modelling/management.
- Clear and effective communication skills - both oral and written.
- Organisational skills and the ability to quickly adapt to changing environments.
- Excellent problem management skills.
- Sound ICT skills, with a good level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and Power
Point. - Ability to work as part of a team.
- Fluent in English. Portuguese is a plus.
- Available to work in Sines 5 days per week (no rotation applies).
Qualifications
- Architecture, Engineering degree or degree in Environmental Studies.
